The Backyard Writers Workshop is a fiction workshop based out of Philadelphia. It functions as a typical writing workshop, round table and all, and since 2011 has grown to be a space of betterment, accountability, and community for the Backyard Writers.
For the last two weeks of June 2017 the Backyard Writers, in partnership with the DeVito family, will offer their first-ever public writers residency program to four writers of prose and poetry.
Cancer Focus NI offers creative writing and art journaling in a safe place; facilitated by an art therapist and counsellor, for those impacted by cancer as a patient or family member. Attendees are encouraged to explore feelings and emotions with a group of peers.
The time is rich with metaphors, collage and watercolours – it is surprising what comes up for people, they find the release is beneficial. Groups run once a month over a period of 4-6 months.

Casa Ana is a creative retreat and guest house in the mountainous Alujarra region of Andalucia, Spain. The area was featured in Chris Stewart’s best-seller Driving over Lemons. At Casa Ana we offer two-week-long Writers’ Retreats with professional mentor Mary Jane Holmes (senior editor of Fish Publishing and head of their online mentoring service). The Writers’ Retreats are held three times a year. We also host a range of creative writing courses.
The house is situated in the white village of Ferreirola (population around 28). The Irish Writers Centre is the national resource centre for Irish literature. Their mission is to support and promote writers at all stages of their development. They offer a diverse programme of writing courses and workshops led by established writers across a range of genres including memoir, poetry, playwriting, short-stories and the novel. Swansea and District Writers' Circle are a group of writers of all ages with a range of members from those of no previous experience to some professional writers. We meet once a month on the first Wednesday except August. We either have a speaker or we discuss our writing.
