Stacy McWilliams lives and works in Glasgow with her husband and two sons. Her writing journey began in France, seven years ago. Although she had been writing since the age of 11, inspiration didn’t come until she was on holiday, staying at an old cottage in France. Struck by the supernatural, ideas, she began to write seriously. Escaping Demons, the name of one of her earliest drafts, was born, and since then she hasn't looked back.Escaping Demons evolved to become Luminosity. It's the story of Jasmine Johnson, an average girl with an average life, until she is forced to stay with the strange Stevenson family. Soon enough, creatures from the darkest shadows come into the light. Her only saving grace is in the form of Nathan Stevenson, the middle child of the family, who fights to reject his love for her.McWilliams says she doesn't plan any of her writing out. This intense style of writing is evident in the thrill of Luminosity. She begins with an idea, allowing the characters to decide for themselves where they go. The real hard work of writing is in the editing - or so it is for McWilliams, anyway. The story changed only slightly through redrafting and editing, becoming maturer. In addition, characters developed to places she hadn't imagined before. However popular this genre is, there's always a struggle, and publishing is hard work. From formatting to editing, marketing and branding, McWilliams has her work cut out for her. But with each publication, her knowledge grows, and the process becomes a little bit easier. As long as there is passion, the rest will follow.Candlelight has been written as the prequel to Luminosity. It is a dark tale written from Nathan's point of view, with a different take on demons that may challenge the reader’s perspective. Ignition continues Jasmine’s story, and was released along with Candlelight. McWilliams is currently in the process of writing two novels that will explore the worlds of college romance and rock music.Click here to purchase Luminosity.
