Writing about your business can seem difficult. When you’re not used to writing, where do you start? When you’re working in you business every day, how do you put yourself in your customers’ shoes?

But it doesn’t have to be difficult. Once you know the secrets of marketing communication (the ones professional copywriters use), you’ll find it much easier.

On this course, you’ll learn those secrets. You’ll finish it knowing how to write content your customers will love (and it’ll cost you less than a day of a good copywriter’s time).

1) Writing to sell and engage.

You’ll learn the core principles great copywriting. These principles will guide you through the course and provide a template for all your business writing. You’ll learn how to work out who you should be writing for and how to use the power of words to create long-lasting relationships.


You’ll be asked to visualise your ideal client. You’ll define them, identifying what they want, why they want it and what you have to offer them. You’ll explore the best way to reach them with words.

2) Writing your website.

You’ll learn how writing for the web can be different to other writing, and how it can be the same.You’ll gain an understanding of the function of different elements of a website, and how you can use each one as a brilliant sales opportunity. You’ll learn what makes people engage with businesses online.


You’ll create a plan for a new website for your business and write its Home Page.

3) Social media and blogging.

You’ll learn the how and why of blogging: how it works and why it could benefit your business. You’ll find out about blogging sins, and how to avoid them. You’ll learn how to create killer social media content that your customers will love to click.


You’ll write a blog post that you’ll be able to use to engage with your customers. You’ll write social posts you can use to promote it on your chosen platforms.

4) Direct marketing.

You’ll learn about the different ways you can send emails and how to get themnoticed in your customers’ crowded inboxes. You’ll learn the value of a newsletter and how to use it to win sales. You’ll discover the secrets of brilliant sales letters.


You’ll be asked to take the ideal client you visualised in Module One, and write a sales email addressed to them.

5) Product promotion.

You’ll learn how to create brilliant e-commerce websites and product descriptions that sell. You’ll learn how to write product brochures and portfolios that you can use online or in print. You’ll learn how to write press releases that journalists will love to read.


You’ll be asked to imagine a new product or service you’d like to sell, and write a page for your website designed to sell it.

6) Making writing part of your business life.

You’ll learn how to deal writing problems, including writer’s block, lack of motivation and time constraints. You’ll learn the importance of editing and collaboration, and how to do both well. You’ll learn how to make writing a core part of your business plan.


You’ll create a business writing strategy that you can put into action straight away.
